As a Ladera Ranch Personal Trainer, I have seen people make the biggest mistakes when it comes to losing weight and getting into great shape. And most people will try everything they read about, spend all kinds of money in hopes of getting that ultimate body. I am here to give you some simple strategies that will have you burning fat faster than you ever thought possible.

With a week to go, you're going to have to kick up your workout routine a few notches. If you are already working out, hone in on what improvements you can make. Your cardio routine is the number one place to amp it up. Doing 30 minutes on a treadmill? Kick up the incline and move a little faster for a longer period of time. A study by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that weight lifting can prevent obesity. The average American woman gets fatter as she gets older (as if wrinkles weren't enough to worry about!). More specifically, midlife women gain intraabdominal fat (commonly referred to as the "pooch"). The pooch is not only unattractive, but it is also associated with chronic disease. The study enrolled women ages 25-44 in a twice weekly weight lifting program for two years. After the two years, the study showed that women who participated in weight lifting lost body fat.

Do your cardio after your intense weight training. This is by far one of the best method I have seen working for my clients. For those who do not know me, I have been doing personal training for more than 7000 hours since the 2004 and I find that my clients that follow my instructions and do their cardio after their weight training lose the most fat!
